Michael Johnsey is a British photographer working in Asia and based in Bali.
His love of photography began in his teens, when he bought his first camera. He wandered through the streets and great parks of London, building a passion that was to become life-long.
Landing in Indonesia opened up a whole new exciting world of sights and scenes for capture. But while his passion for photography was firmly cemented, it was not until his 40s that Michael studied it formally at a London art college.
Today in all his images, including the exhibit at bridges, he tries to capture what is special about the everyday. Michael spends his time in amongst people recording everyday events, capturing moments that can be easily missed. He believes that a good picture is not necessarily just about being technically correct – it has a soul, tells a story and reveals a personality, mood, or situation.
A good picture is honest.
